John's Theology Blog
"The task of Christian scholarship is to study reality as a manifestation of God's glory, to speak about it with accuracy, and to savor the beauty of God in it." John Piper
About Me
- Name: John
I'm a former stay-at-home dad who finished up a second Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2005. My Th.M. thesis is entitled "The Kingdom of God as Everlasting life in the Gospel of John: Present and Future Aspects." I taught High School students Old Testament Survery, Church History, and Bible Doctrine, at First Baptist Academy for three years. I also have been a pastor of a church in East Texas and was involved in youth and worship ministry in Houston before that. My wife is the Children's minister at the church on Rush Creek (www.rushcreek.org). We have three boys, Nathaniel, 8 years old and Benjamin, 6 years old, and Timothy, 1 year old. My favorite theologians are E. Earle Ellis, J.I. Packer, George Eldon Ladd, and Alister McGrath, as well as numerous others. My best friend, Chris Forbes, envies my leisurely lifestyle of reading books and drinking coffee, as well as my expert and lucid writing style. Everything he knows about marketing...I taught him!

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." John 5:24
